Mechanical Keyboard Ghosting, NKRO & Matrix Diagnostic Guide
What is Keyboard Ghosting?
Ghosting occurs when multiple keys are pressed simultaneously on a standard membrane or unoptimized keyboard matrix, and the controller registers an unpressed key (a "ghost"). Gaming keyboards use discrete diodes to guarantee anti-ghosting.
6KRO vs Full NKRO
6KRO registers up to 6 simultaneous alphanumeric keys over standard USB HID descriptors. Full NKRO (N-Key Rollover) enables unlimited simultaneous keystrokes with discrete matrix scanning.
Latency & Switch Diagnostics
This tool measures real-time switch hold duration, actuation consistency, and key debounce timing to detect failing or double-clicking mechanical switches.
